Dwight Yoakam has released his first album in eight years, titled 'Brighter Days,' which came out on November 15, 2024. The album draws inspiration from significant life events, including his marriage to Emily Joyce in March 2020 and the birth of their son, Dalton Loren, in August of the same year. Notably, the title track was co-written with Dalton, stemming from a sweet interaction where Yoakam encouraged his son to join him in music-making. This release marks a transition for Yoakam as he has parted ways with Warner Records, now collaborating with Thirty Tigers under his own label. The album includes original songs and covers, showcasing Yoakam's evolution while honoring his musical influences.
