Former Mizzou RB Cody Schrader Signs with Jacksonville Jaguars

Cody Schrader, a former Missouri Tigers running back known for breaking the school's single-season rushing record and finishing eighth in Heisman Trophy voting, has signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars after spending the 2024 NFL season primarily on the Los Angeles Rams' practice squad. Schrader initially signed as an undrafted free agent with the San Francisco 49ers but was waived before moving to the Rams. The Jaguars made room for Schrader by trading running back Tank Bigsby to the Philadelphia Eagles. Schrader, a St. Louis native who transferred from Division-II Truman State to Missouri, was a consensus All-American and first-team All-SEC selection in 2023. Jacksonville's running back room includes veterans and rookies, with Schrader expected to compete for playing time under coach Liam Coen, who previously served as Kentucky's offensive coordinator when Schrader led the SEC in rushing. Schrader's move to the Jaguars marks his third NFL team within a year, offering him a new opportunity to establish himself at the professional level.
