Woman, Dog Shot Dead Santa Rosa Home, Suspect Unknown

Early Tuesday morning, a woman was fatally shot inside her Santa Rosa home on Cecilia Drive in what police believe was a targeted killing. Responding officers found the back gate open and a shattered rear sliding glass door, and after unsuccessful attempts to contact anyone inside, used a drone to discover two dogs—one deceased and one injured—likely suffering from gunshot wounds. The woman was found dead on the stairs leading to the second floor with at least one gunshot wound. No suspects or firearms were found at the scene. Police have classified the incident as isolated and do not consider there to be an ongoing threat to the community. Authorities are actively investigating, with the Sonoma County Alliance Community Engagement and Safety Fund offering a reward for information leading to an arrest.
