Former Teacher Charged With Sexual Conduct

Christopher John Wilhelm, a former teacher and football coach at Bedford High School, has been charged with multiple sexual offenses involving a student, including four counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of using a computer to commit a crime. The allegations, stemming from incidents in 2022, involve sexual contact occurring on school grounds, at his home, and at a hotel. Wilhelm, 38, was arraigned in Monroe County court, with his bond set at $500,000, and faces significant prison time if convicted. The Bedford school district is taking steps to ensure student safety while Superintendent Carl Shultz expressed concern over the allegations. Michigan State Police are asking for information from anyone who may have additional details or victims related to the case. Toledo police are also conducting an investigation into the alleged offenses occurring in their jurisdiction.
