A series of tragic accidents in Lagos have resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries. A collision between two commercial buses on the Third Mainland Bridge led to one death and eight injuries due to reckless driving and mechanical failure. In another incident, a mini bus crashed into a stationary truck, killing the driver and injuring a passenger. Additionally, three pedestrians were killed by a Toyota Sienna bus on the Ibadan-Lagos Expressway, while two others were injured in a separate accident on the same road. Authorities have expressed concern over excessive speeding and mechanical failures as major contributors to these accidents, emphasizing the need for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has called for heightened awareness and adherence to road safety measures among motorists.
