Verizon to Upgrade Networks at 35 Air Force Bases

Verizon Business has been awarded a contract to implement 4G and 5G upgrades at 35 U.S. Air Force bases as part of the military's Offer to Lease (OTL) program. This initiative aims to enhance connectivity with C-Band spectrum, macro builds, and small cell installations, ultimately improving speeds, bandwidth, and reducing latency for military personnel and their families. This contract marks Verizon's seventh OTL victory out of eight attempts, underscoring the Air Force's trust in its network capabilities. With over 85% of U.S. Air Force bases receiving upgrades, the program will contribute to operational efficiency and quality of life improvements at the installations. The latest deal follows Verizon's substantial contract awards totaling nearly $3.78 billion with the Department of Defense since 2023. The upgraded network is expected to support the diverse missions of each base and enhance community connectivity.
