Tulane Plans Indoor Practice Facility for Football, All Sports

Tulane University has announced plans to build an enclosed practice facility for its Green Wave football team, as well as other athletics, on the Claiborne Parking Lot behind Greer Field at Turchin Stadium. The facility, designed to be 60 feet high and approximately 65-70 yards in length, will feature an inflatable cover that can be removed during hurricanes. This investment aims to enhance training capabilities for all 17 Division I sports at Tulane, providing a weather-resistant venue that has been a long-standing need for the program. Athletic Director David Harris emphasized the importance of this facility in supporting the team's performance and recruitment efforts. The project is expected to be ready by August 2025, pending permit approvals, and a community meeting is scheduled to discuss the plans further. Tulane has also secured alternative parking arrangements for those affected by the construction.
