Kansas City Chiefs Docuseries Premieres August 14 ESPN, Disney+

ESPN, Disney+, and Skydance Sports are premiering a six-episode docuseries titled "The Kingdom" on August 14, chronicling the Kansas City Chiefs' 65-year franchise history and their 2024 season. Directed by Kristen Lappas and produced by the team behind "The Last Dance," the series offers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the Chiefs’ bid for a third consecutive Super Bowl title, which ended in a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The docuseries features interviews with players, coaches, executives, and other key figures, highlighting both the franchise’s highs and lows over decades. Episodes will premiere on ESPN+ and Disney+ simultaneously, with a staggered television airing on ESPN from August 14 through August 20. The Chiefs' Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt emphasized the series as a tribute to everyone involved in shaping the team and aimed to deepen fans' appreciation of the organization. Director Lappas praised the candidness of the team members, saying their openness reveals why the Chiefs have become a unique and enduring dynasty in the NFL.
