Tacoma Police Probe Two Teen Homicides

Tacoma police are investigating two fatal shootings of teenage boys, both classified as homicides and occurring in the city. On April 20, 2025, officers responded to gunfire in the Salishan neighborhood at East 41st Street, where a teenage boy was found and later died at the hospital. This case remains under investigation with no arrests made and no suspect information released. Another teenage boy was fatally shot two weeks earlier on Portland Avenue in Tacoma, with that investigation also ongoing and no arrests. A separate report of gunfire near East 41st Street on Monday prompted a temporary lockdown at Blix Elementary, but police have not confirmed any connection between the incidents.
