United Expands U.S. Network, Restarts Bangkok Service

United Airlines will expand U.S. regional service with three daily Bombardier CRJ-550 flights between Marquette’s Sawyer Regional Airport and Chicago O’Hare beginning May 21, 2026, offering 50-seat service including a United First cabin. The carrier will also return to Central Wisconsin Airport with three daily CRJ-550 flights to Chicago starting the same date, restoring a previously suspended route and increasing local options alongside American and Delta. Internationally, United resumed daily Los Angeles–Bangkok service in late October 2025, its first return to Thailand since 2014; the inaugural flight UA 820 departed LAX on Oct. 24 and arrived Oct. 26 after a brief stop in Hong Kong. The LAX–Bangkok route is operated with Boeing 787‑9 Dreamliners offering 257 seats across Polaris Business Class, Premium Plus and Economy, and the inaugural arrival at Suvarnabhumi was met with a water salute and a welcome ceremony attended by Thai and U.S. officials. The Hong Kong stop on the inaugural flight enables connections from United’s San Francisco–Hong Kong services, and United’s Los Angeles and San Francisco hubs provide onward links to more than 75 destinations across the Americas. Thai officials say the route restart coincides with a strong rebound in tourism — Thailand expects more than 1.1 million U.S. visitors in 2025 and had recorded over 26 million foreign arrivals so far in 2025 — underscoring economic and connectivity gains from United’s network expansion.
