Zack Sabre Jr. emerged victorious at the 2024 G1 Climax, defeating Yota Tsuji in a thrilling 31-minute final held at Ryogoku Sumo Hall, Tokyo, before an audience of 8,056 fans. This marks Sabre's first G1 Climax title and makes him only the second non-Japanese winner in the tournament's history. Following his win, Sabre announced his intention to challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at the King of Pro Wrestling event on October 14, rather than waiting for Wrestle Kingdom in January. He plans to defend the title for the first time in London at Royal Quest IV on October 20.
