Jon M. Chu to Receive ACE Golden Eddie Award

Jon M. Chu, director of the upcoming film 'Wicked,' will receive the ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award at the 75th annual ACE Eddie Awards on January 18, 2025, recognizing his distinguished achievements in filmmaking. The American Cinema Editors (ACE) will also honor film editors Maysie Hoy and Paul Hirsch with Career Achievement Awards for their significant contributions to the craft. ACE president Sabrina Plisco praised Chu for his dynamic storytelling and innovative visual style, highlighting his past works including 'In The Heights' and 'Crazy Rich Asians.' Nominations for the awards will be announced on December 11, 2024, with the event taking place at UCLA's Royce Hall. Chu joins a prestigious list of past Golden Eddie recipients, including renowned filmmakers like Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorsese. The ACE Eddie Awards celebrate excellence in film and television editing across 13 competitive categories.
