A 24-year-old woman, Mallory Humphreys of Taunton, died early Sunday morning on Route 44 after the car she was a passenger in rear-ended a tractor-trailer. The crash occurred around 1:24 a.m. near Winthrop Street, with the vehicle driven by a 27-year-old man from Fall River, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Rhode Island Hospital. The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 39-year-old Brockton man, was unharmed. The incident is currently under investigation by the Bristol County District Attorney's Office.
