Thailand Approves $79M Budget to Host Tomorrowland Festival Through 2031

Thailand will host the iconic Tomorrowland electronic dance music festival at Wisdom Valley near Pattaya from 2026 through 2031, backed by a government-approved budget of 2 billion baht to promote tourism and economic growth. This marks the first time Tomorrowland, one of the world's largest music festivals originating from Belgium, will take place in Asia, with expectations to attract over a million domestic and international visitors and generate more than 12 billion baht in economic activity. The festival aims to lure high-spending international travelers and boost Thailand's tourism sector, which has faced challenges due to a slowdown in Chinese visitors. The event will be managed by VR One World (Thailand), a joint venture between a Thai company and Tomorrowland's Belgian organizers, with support from multiple government agencies including the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Eastern Economic Corridor. Thailand is leveraging Tomorrowland's global brand and immersive electronic music experience to blend premium entertainment with local hospitality, enhancing its position as a leading destination for international music and lifestyle tourism. The government anticipates ticket sales of approximately 5.2 billion baht and expects the festival to help offset recent declines in foreign arrivals by drawing about 922,500 participants in the first year.
