Benton Reports Significant Gold Discovery at Great Burnt, Newfoundland
Benton Resources Inc. has announced a significant new gold discovery approximately 150 meters north of its Great Burnt Copper deposit in Newfoundland, with drill hole GB-25-63 returning 2.15 g/t gold over 7.7 meters and a higher-grade section of 5.46 g/t over 2.75 meters. This discovery may represent an extension of mineralization from nearby drill hole GB-25-59, which also showed notable gold and copper grades. In addition to gold, Benton intersected copper-rich semi-massive and massive sulphides in the Great Burnt Main Zone and Footwall Zone, highlighting the project's potential for further mineral expansion. Benton has completed over 23,300 meters of drilling since late 2023 and conducted a 5.9 km surface pulse electromagnetic survey that identified new conductive targets for exploration. Drilling is currently paused pending assay results and geophysical data evaluation, which will guide future drilling phases. Despite the promising exploration results, Benton Resources faces financial challenges, including zero revenue and ongoing losses, contributing to a cautious investment outlook.
