Atlantic Park Creates Over 1,100 Jobs Boosting Liverpool Economy
The development of Atlantic Park, a 52-acre logistics and manufacturing hub on the site of the former Rolls Royce factory in Bootle within the Port of Liverpool Freeport zone, is projected to create approximately 1,125 new jobs and inject £62.9 million annually into the Liverpool City Region economy. The project, managed by Royal London Asset Management, is expected to generate 685 net additional employment opportunities for local Sefton residents and contribute £1.2 million annually in business rates to Sefton Borough Council. During its construction phase, the project will also support at least 25 local jobs each year. Liverpool City Region Mayor Steve Rotheram highlighted the area's economic resurgence, emphasizing the influx of private investment and the growth of apprenticeships and businesses in the region. The second phase of the Atlantic Park construction is anticipated to be completed by summer 2026. Overall, the project reflects Liverpool's transformation from post-industrial decline to a growing economic hub offering hope and opportunity for local communities.
