Ukraine Unveils Upgraded AI Sea Baby Drone

Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU/SSU) unveiled an upgraded “Sea Baby” maritime drone with an extended range of about 1,500 km and a payload capacity of roughly 2,000 kg. Demonstrations showed variants fitted with a gyro-stabilized automated machine gun and a Grad multiple-rocket launcher, reinforced engines, and improved navigation, and officials say the boats employ AI-assisted friend-or-foe targeting, can launch small aerial attack drones, and include multilayered self-destruct features. The remotely operated craft are controlled from mobile van-based command centers and SBU describes them as reusable, networked naval assets rather than single-use strike boats. SBU credits the Sea Baby campaign with successful strikes on at least 11 Russian vessels and attacks including the Crimean/Kerch bridge, and says it helped force the Russian Black Sea Fleet to relocate its main base from Sevastopol to Novorossiysk. Kyiv says many of the latest upgrades were funded via the UNITED24 crowdfunding platform.
