Xiaomi Plans EV Sales Expansion in Europe by 2027

Chinese tech giant Xiaomi is preparing to launch its electric vehicles in Europe starting in 2027, signaling a major expansion beyond its domestic market. The company’s EV unit has seen rapid growth, with revenue tripling year over year and record deliveries in China, although production challenges and long delivery wait times persist. Xiaomi has established an R&D center in Munich and hired experienced automotive designers to support its European ambitions. The SU7 sedan, praised by Ford CEO Jim Farley for its advanced technology and performance, is expected to compete with established EV leaders like Tesla and Volkswagen in Europe. Xiaomi is also expanding its product lineup in Europe with accessories like the 20W Power Strip, demonstrating a broader push into European consumer markets. Though Xiaomi aims to deliver 350,000 EVs in 2025, its full-scale European vehicle launch remains slated for 2027 as it addresses production scaling and market entry hurdles.
