Breeze Airways Reports First Profit Since 2021 Launch

Breeze Airways, a premium low-cost carrier, reported its first quarterly profit in the fourth quarter of 2024, achieving over $200 million in revenue and marking a significant milestone since its launch in 2021. This accomplishment was largely driven by a 78% increase in annual revenue, reaching more than $680 million, and a strategic focus on connecting underserved markets with popular destinations. The airline's unique point-to-point model and competitive pricing have allowed it to serve 220 nonstop routes, with 87% being exclusive to Breeze. CEO David Neeleman credits the success to a strong market presence, expanded routes, and premium service offerings that differentiate Breeze from struggling rivals like Spirit and Frontier. Breeze's expansion included adding 29 new destinations and increasing available seat miles by 52% in 2024. The airline's profitability has been bolstered by rising airfares and a strategic fleet composed of Airbus A220s, offering both economy and premium seating options.
