Truck Driver Charged with Negligent Homicide in Fayette County Man's Death

Singh Sukhjinder, a tractor-trailer driver from New York, has been arrested in Phoenix, Arizona, and charged with negligent homicide in connection with the death of Kevin Lataille, who was found dead in his submerged car in Cheat Lake. Lataille had gone missing after leaving work at Eat N' Park in Morgantown on January 19, coinciding with Sukhjinder's reckless driving during a severe snowstorm that caused his tractor-trailer to jack-knife on Cheat Lake Bridge. Surveillance footage showed Sukhjinder's vehicle sliding and a car, later identified as Lataille's, falling into the lake. Recovery efforts on January 26 confirmed Lataille's death inside the submerged vehicle. Investigators concluded that Sukhjinder was driving at an unsafe speed, and witness testimony described his driving behavior as reckless and criminal. The investigation revealed that Sukhjinder's tractor-trailer had also struck another vehicle before the fatal incident.
