Kaire Holman, 31, has been charged with murder in the shooting death of Zharia Wilcox-Ellis, 24, in Waltham on August 2. Holman is the second individual charged in this case; Melanie Williams, Wilcox-Ellis's ex-girlfriend, was previously charged with assault and battery following an altercation that occurred shortly before the shooting. Surveillance footage captured Williams striking Wilcox-Ellis, who was already injured, moments before the gunfire. Ballistics evidence linked the .380 firearm registered to Holman to the bullets found in Wilcox-Ellis's body.
