Barcelona Signs Swedish Winger Roony Bardghji From Copenhagen
Barcelona has signed 19-year-old Swedish winger Roony Bardghji from FC Copenhagen on a four-year contract running until 2029, with a reported initial transfer fee of around €2 million plus performance-related add-ons and a future transfer percentage for Copenhagen. Bardghji, who was sidelined for ten months due to a serious ACL injury but returned to action in March 2025, previously scored 15 goals in 85 appearances for Copenhagen and gained recognition for his Champions League goal against Manchester United at just 17 years old. He is expected to join Hansi Flick's senior squad for preseason and the upcoming Asia tour, where he will aim to secure a permanent spot, although minutes with Barcelona's reserve team have not been ruled out. Barcelona views Bardghji as a promising signing for the future who could also contribute in the short term, amid reported interest from other LaLiga clubs for possible loan deals. The transfer concludes Bardghji's contract with Copenhagen, which was set to expire in December 2025, allowing Barcelona to acquire him for a relatively low fee. Bardghji expressed his excitement upon joining Barcelona, fulfilling a childhood dream, and was officially presented at the club's headquarters with key club officials present.
