Duke secured a 26-20 victory over Northwestern in double overtime, marking their sixth consecutive win against the Wildcats since 2016. Maalik Murphy threw two crucial touchdown passes in overtime, one to Jordan Moore and another to Eli Pancol, who had two touchdown catches overall. Northwestern's Cam Porter scored a 10-yard touchdown in the first overtime but it wasn't enough as Mike Wright's last-second pass failed to connect. Murphy finished the game completing 24 of 39 passes for 242 yards, while Northwestern's Porter rushed for 93 yards and scored both of the Wildcats' touchdowns. Todd Pelino's 22-yard field goal tied the game at 13 with 14 seconds left in regulation, sending it to overtime. This win gives Duke's new coach Manny Diaz a 2-0 start to the season.
