Netflix Greenlights Animated Twilight Series

Netflix has greenlit an animated series adaptation of 'Midnight Sun,' a retelling of 'Twilight' from Edward Cullen's perspective. Lionsgate Television, which produced the original 'Twilight' films, will handle the production. Sinead Daly will serve as writer and executive producer, alongside Stephenie Meyer and other notable producers. 'Midnight Sun,' published in 2020, revisits the original story but focuses on Edward's viewpoint, adding depth to his character. The new series aims to capitalize on the continuing popularity of the 'Twilight' franchise, which has accumulated over $3 billion in box office revenue. Casting details and a release date have yet to be announced.
