Flyers Top Lightning 2-1 in Shootout
Owen Tippett played a pivotal role in the Philadelphia Flyers' 2-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning, scoring the tying goal late in regulation and netting the deciding goal in the shootout. Ivan Fedotov, in goal for the Flyers, made 22 saves and earned his first NHL win, stopping both shootout attempts from Gage Goncalves and Victor Hedman. Nikita Kucherov scored for the Lightning, who are now on a four-game losing streak. The Flyers' win marked only their fifth in 14 games, keeping them tied with Nashville for the fewest points in the league. Rookie Matvei Michkov was a healthy scratch for the Flyers, as Coach John Tortorella continues to manage his development. The Lightning will have a week off before facing the Winnipeg Jets, while the Flyers will visit Florida next.
