A homicide investigation is underway following the fatal shooting of a man in downtown Long Beach on Saturday, close to the Long Beach Grand Prix. The incident, reported at 5:50 p.m., involved a verbal dispute between the victim and the suspect, which escalated to gunfire. Police found the man suffering from gunshot wounds and he was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Authorities detained at least one individual during their response, although it remains unclear if any arrests were made.
