New Zealand Reaches Champions Trophy Final
New Zealand defeated South Africa by 50 runs in the semi-final of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, held at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, to advance to the final against India. Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson set a tournament record score of 362/6, scoring 108 and 102 runs respectively. South Africa, despite an unbeaten century from David Miller and half-centuries from Rassie van der Dussen and Temba Bavuma, ended at 312/9. Mitchell Santner led New Zealand's bowling with three crucial wickets, supported by Glenn Phillips and Matt Henry. The final between New Zealand and India will be held on March 9 in Dubai, marking a rematch of the 2000 final, which New Zealand won. The victory continues New Zealand's strong performance in ICC events, as they seek their second Champions Trophy title.
