Marine Parade Flooding from Burst Water Pipe

A construction accident during lift retrofitting works caused a 300mm-diameter underground water pipe to burst at Marine Parade, leading to significant flooding in the area, including Marine Drive and Still Road South. The floodwaters affected local businesses and facilities such as the Marine Parade Community Club, with clean-up efforts involving at least 20 workers. Despite the flooding, there was no disruption to the water supply for nearby residential units. The road access was restored by 5pm on the same day, thanks to quick action by the Public Utilities Board and other agencies. This incident follows previous flooding issues in the area, raising ongoing concerns about infrastructure resilience.
