New Electric Bus Services Launch in India

Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) will launch three new bus routes on the SP Ring Road starting October 22, with 20 buses initially operating at current ticket rates. In Sutton, Transport for London (TfL) is adding 81 new zero-emission buses to improve air quality, making half of the borough's bus journeys eco-friendly. Kent County Council is set to introduce the Dover Fastrack bus service next month, connecting Whitfield to Dover town center using a fleet of electric buses. In Kolhapur, infrastructure work has begun for 100 new electric buses aimed at reducing air and noise pollution, with a project cost of Rs250 crore. Additionally, Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) plans to launch AC electric feeder bus services on six routes to enhance connectivity, with new charging stations established for efficient operation. These initiatives across various cities highlight a significant shift towards greener public transportation solutions.
