TotalEnergies Expands Renewable Projects in Saudi Arabia

During French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to Saudi Arabia, TotalEnergies and EDF Renewables announced significant solar energy projects, including a 0.3 GW solar park by TotalEnergies and two parks totalling 1.4 GW by EDF, as part of Saudi Arabia's ambitious goal to reach 130 GW of renewable capacity by 2030. TotalEnergies is also set to build a 300 MW solar project, bolstering its renewable energy portfolio in the kingdom, alongside ongoing work on a $11 billion petrochemical complex. Furthermore, a collaboration involving Aramco, TotalEnergies, and the Saudi Investment Recycling Company was established to assess the development of a sustainable aviation fuels unit. TotalEnergies emphasized its commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia's energy transition aligned with the country's Vision 2030. The agreements signed during the Saudi-French Investment Forum highlight the growing foreign investment in Saudi renewable energy and sustainability initiatives. The financial details of the agreements have not been disclosed, but they are part of a broader strategy to enhance the kingdom's renewable energy infrastructure.
