Despite the early losses of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, Jaiswal's performance, alongside Ravichandran Ashwin, helped India post 396 in their first innings. Jaiswal was eventually caught out by Jonny Bairstow, bowled by James Anderson. Both Anderson and Shoaib Bashir took three wickets each. While England currently leads the five-Test series 1-0 after their victory in Hyderabad, Jaiswal's double century has strengthened India's position.
