Chicopee and Easton Arrests Highlight Gun Concerns

Jeyver Pabon-Flores, a 21-year-old from Chicopee, Massachusetts, was arrested on multiple gun and vehicle charges following a disturbance outside a bar in Springfield. The incident, which occurred around 2 a.m. on Belmont Avenue, involved a two-car crash where Pabon-Flores attempted to flee the scene with a loaded, stolen firearm. Police captured and disarmed him on Dickinson Street, charging him with possession of a firearm without an FID card, among other offenses. In a separate incident, Anthony Lopes, 18, was arrested on firearms charges in connection to an investigation into a shooting of a 16-year-old girl in Easton, Massachusetts. Lopes was charged with carrying a firearm without a license and possessing a large-capacity feeding device, though he has not been charged for the shooting itself. Both incidents highlight ongoing concerns with illegal firearms in Massachusetts.
