Alan Rachins, the celebrated actor known for his roles in 'L.A. Law' and 'Dharma & Greg', passed away at the age of 82 due to heart failure. He died peacefully in his sleep on November 2, 2024, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, confirmed by his wife Joanna Frank. Rachins was born on October 3, 1942, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and had a prolific acting career spanning over several decades with more than 75 credits. He was best known for his portrayal of attorney Douglas Brackman Jr. on 'L.A. Law', for which he received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations, and the free-spirited Larry Finkelstein on 'Dharma & Greg'. His career also included performances in other series like 'General Hospital', 'Rizzoli & Isles', and films such as 'Showgirls'. Rachins is survived by his wife and their son Robert.
