Los Alamos Commission Approves New Hotel Site Plan

The Los Alamos County Planning and Zoning Commission has approved a site plan for a new extended-stay hotel and conference center at 400 Trinity Drive, intended to revitalize the area following the earlier termination of a similar project. The hotel will feature 60 units, including some with kitchenettes, and approximately 1,000 square feet designated for local conference activities. Meanwhile, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors has green-lighted a mixed-use development plan that will replace the Commons of McLean apartments with a complex encompassing up to 2.72 million square feet of residential, commercial, and retail space. This new plan includes provisions for subsidized workforce housing and aims to enhance community amenities through open spaces. Additionally, Green Charter Township has adopted new zoning ordinances to regulate wind, solar, and battery storage developments, reflecting a commitment to sustainable energy practices.
