EESL Partners with Aditya Birla Group to Accelerate Energy Efficiency Across Manufacturing

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) and Aditya Birla Management Corporation Pvt Ltd (ABMCPL), the apex management arm of the Aditya Birla Group, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote energy efficiency across the Group’s manufacturing operations. The Aditya Birla Group, with over 130 manufacturing facilities and an annual energy consumption of 17.9 million tonnes of oil equivalent, has committed to achieving Net-Zero Carbon Emissions by 2050. This partnership will involve technical feasibility studies, pilot projects, capacity-building initiatives, and the deployment of energy-saving technologies such as industrial utilities upgrades, waste heat recovery, and automation solutions. The collaboration is supported by the International Institute for Energy Conservation and funded by the Global Environment Facility’s GEF-6 program under UNEP Technical Assistance, ensuring adherence to international best practices. EESL will assist ABMCPL in designing and implementing energy-saving strategies through diagnostic assessments and group-level opportunity identification. This strategic alliance underscores a shared commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and advancing sustainable industrial practices within India’s manufacturing sector.
