King Charles Makes First Official Visit to Lancashire
King Charles III made his first official visit to Lancashire as monarch, where he was warmly greeted by the Lord-Lieutenant of Lancashire, Amanda Parker. During the visit, the King participated in an ancient ceremony at Lancaster Castle, where he was presented with the Keys to the Castle by Mrs. Pam Barker DL in front of the John O’Gaunt Gate. Following the ceremony, His Majesty met with local business representatives and attended a reception with various community organizations from the Lancaster area. The visit drew hundreds of spectators lining the streets, including local residents and fans of the Royals, such as Patricia Ritchie, who traveled from Morecambe to witness the event. To ensure safety and smooth operations, road closures and parking restrictions were implemented around Lancaster Castle, with authorities coordinating the event. This occasion was described as a very special moment for Lancashire, highlighting the King's role as both monarch and Duke of Lancaster.
