Woman Arrested for Murder in Ipswich

A woman in her 50s has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the discovery of 63-year-old William McNicholl's body at his home in Ipswich on New Year's Day. Suffolk Police reported that McNicholl, known as Billy, was found with a single stab wound and head injuries, with the post-mortem examination indicating the cause of death. The woman was taken into custody for questioning at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre and remains there as investigations continue. Authorities have lifted the police cordon at the scene but have increased police presence in the area as they appeal for witnesses. Residents are urged to come forward with any information regarding suspicious activity between December 24 and January 1. The murder inquiry is being led by Suffolk Constabulary’s Major Investigation Team.
