Tesla GigaBerlin Partially Evacuated After Battery Cell Fire

Tesla experienced a fire incident at its GigaBerlin factory in Germany, specifically in the battery-pack production building, which led to the evacuation of all employees from part of the facility, including those working on drive unit assembly. The fire was triggered when several battery cells fell from a conveyor belt, causing a localized blaze that took several hours to extinguish and affected approximately two-thirds of a complete battery pack. No injuries or environmental damage occurred, as firefighting water was contained within the building and cleaned up by specialized crews. Production was halted immediately following the fire, and Tesla is conducting an internal investigation to determine the cause. This incident adds to Tesla's history of fire scares at its factories, including previous events in Germany and the U.S., and comes amid broader challenges such as a 20% year-to-date stock decline due to demand weaknesses in the EV market. Despite the fire, Tesla has not yet commented publicly on the incident.
