Statue of Archie Griffin Unveiled at Rose Bowl

Archie Griffin, the only two-time Heisman Trophy winner, was honored with a statue unveiled at the Rose Bowl on August 17, commemorating the 50th anniversary of his first Heisman award. Griffin's illustrious career at Ohio State includes rushing for over 5,500 yards and participating in four Rose Bowl games, despite the Buckeyes finishing with a 1-3 record in those appearances. The statue is part of a new Legends Walk to educate visitors about Heisman winners who have played in the Rose Bowl. Ohio State plans to unveil a second statue outside Ohio Stadium on August 30, coinciding with the Buckeyes’ season opener. Griffin expressed his gratitude for the honor, emphasizing that it represents not just his achievements but also those of his teammates. Griffin's legacy is further solidified by his past accolades, including induction into both the Rose Bowl and College Football Halls of Fame.
