Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernández, has accepted a plea deal that mandates him to serve one month in jail for violating the terms of his probation. The violations occurred after he failed multiple drug tests and did not inform his probation officer about travel plans, leading to his arrest on October 29. Following the jail term, he will undergo a month of home incarceration, a month of home detention, and a month of curfew with electronic monitoring. The probation terms have also been extended for an additional year, subjecting him to continued supervision by the court's Probation Department. Judge Paul A. Engelmayer expressed disappointment at Hernández's repeated failures to comply with probation rules, especially given past leniency shown during the COVID-19 pandemic. His formal sentencing is set for November 12, where he is expected to admit to the violations.
