Nearly $44M Cocaine Seized in Trucks at Blue Water Bridge, Ontario
Canadian border authorities at the Blue Water Bridge in Sarnia, Ontario, seized nearly 44 million dollars worth of cocaine in two consecutive days in August 2025. On August 13, officers found 150 kilograms of cocaine, valued at approximately $18.8 million, concealed in six boxes inside a commercial truck arriving from the United States, leading to the arrest of Gurjeet Singh, a 28-year-old from Brampton. The following day, they discovered 199 kilograms of cocaine worth about $24.9 million in another truck's trailer, resulting in the arrest of 38-year-old Abdikadir Egal from Etobicoke. Both individuals were charged with importation of cocaine and possession for the purpose of trafficking, and the RCMP took custody of the suspects and narcotics. Officials highlighted the critical collaboration between the Canada Border Services Agency and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in securing the border and preventing drug trafficking. Court proceedings for the accused are ongoing, with charges yet to be proven.
