Tony Hawk is auctioning the skateboard he used to land the first-ever "900" trick at the 1999 X Games, a moment that helped propel skateboarding into the mainstream. The Birdhouse "Falcon 2" board, equipped with Fury brand trucks and unmarked wheels, is expected to sell for between $500,000 and $700,000 at Julien's Auctions on September 23, 2025. The auction, called "The 900 Collection," includes nearly 100 skateboarding artifacts such as Hawk's helmet, knee pads, sneakers, and credentials from the event, all of which are signed and hold historic significance. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Hawk's foundation, The Skatepark Project, which funds skatepark construction in underserved U.S. communities and has awarded over $13 million to date. Hawk has described landing the trick as the best day of his life, emphasizing the years of persistence it took to achieve the feat.
