15-Year-Old Schoolboy Fatally Stabbed in Heart at Sheffield School

Harvey Willgoose, a 15-year-old student at All Saints Catholic High School in Sheffield, died after being fatally stabbed in the heart by a fellow 15-year-old pupil during a lunch break on February 3. The stabbing followed a dispute that escalated from a social media argument on Snapchat, which began over a weekend after a school lockdown incident involving a knife scare. The defendant, who has admitted to manslaughter and possession of a knife but denies murder, used a 13cm serrated hunting knife to inflict the fatal wound, which penetrated Harvey's heart and cut into a rib. Harvey had expressed fear about attending school due to knife incidents, texting his father that he did not want to return while weapons were present. CCTV footage showed the two boys speaking before the attack, and the defendant acknowledged that the stabbing was not in self-defense. The trial is ongoing at Sheffield Crown Court, with the defendant remaining unnamed due to age restrictions.
