Jack Chambers, a 33-year-old junior minister, is set to become Ireland's new Finance Minister, replacing Michael McGrath who is nominated for the EU Commissioner position. Chambers, without previous senior ministerial experience, will be the youngest Finance Minister in Ireland since Michael Collins. He has been a member of the cabinet since 2020 in various roles and was recently appointed as Fianna Fail's deputy leader. Chambers has also served as a Minister of State in several departments, including Transport and Environment. His promotion results in a reshuffle in the Fianna Fail-held portfolios, following McGrath's move to the EU Commission.
