Plug Power Partners with Carreras in Spain

Plug Power is partnering with Carreras Grupo Logístico to establish Spain's first hydrogen-powered logistics site in Masquefa, Barcelona, by replacing lead-acid battery forklifts with hydrogen fuel cells. This initiative aims to enhance energy efficiency, productivity, and sustainability while reducing operational costs within Carreras' logistics operations. The site will serve as a testing ground for evaluating the benefits of hydrogen fuel cells over traditional batteries, with plans to scale the technology across Carreras' 46 warehouses. In parallel, Brazilian mining company Vale is collaborating with Green Energy Park to explore the feasibility of a green hydrogen plant in Brazil, intending to support a Mega Hub for low-carbon steel production. This project aligns with Brazil's efforts to develop a green hydrogen industry and Vale's goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Both initiatives highlight a growing commitment to hydrogen as a crucial component in the transition to a sustainable economy.
