Multiple Fatal DUI Crashes Rock Sacramento Region

A wave of fatal suspected drunk driving incidents has struck Sacramento and West Sacramento. In North Highlands, 19-year-old Ricky Reyes was killed by a driver allegedly under the influence, who was arrested but remains hospitalized pending further investigation. Separately, 71-year-old David Alison Walker faces charges of murder, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and hit-and-run after allegedly killing two 17-year-old girls, Layla Clemons and Jaea Chatman, in West Sacramento while driving a stolen vehicle without a license. Walker admitted in court to consuming vodka before the crash and was denied bail as a danger to society. Emotional statements from the victims' families underscored the community's grief and call for justice. These tragedies have heightened scrutiny of traffic safety and impaired driving in the region.
