Operation Sindoor-Themed Fireworks Boost Diwali Sales Across India

Ahead of Kali Puja and Diwali 2025, Kolkata's fireworks markets are bustling with sales of military-themed firecrackers inspired by the Indian armed forces' Operation Sindoor. These fireworks, shaped like helicopters, drones, missiles, and shells, have been manufactured in hubs such as Sivakasi, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal's Champahati and Nungi, drawing strong customer interest, especially among younger buyers. The items, including ones projecting the Indian national flag colors, commemorate precision strikes on terror infrastructure following the Pahalgam terror attack. Vendors report daily sales of Rs 40,000-50,000 with around 250 varieties priced between Rs 200 and Rs 3,000, all adhering to National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) standards. The patriotic theme merges traditional festivities with national pride, reflecting a trend across Indian cities during this year's Diwali celebrations. Meanwhile, in Ayodhya, Deepotsav festivities are set to feature a record illumination of over 26 lakh earthen lamps, alongside fireworks and light shows enhancing the spiritual and cultural grandeur of the city.
