Leland Vittert to Host NewsNation's 9 PM Slot

Leland Vittert is set to replace Dan Abrams in the 9 p.m. slot on NewsNation as Abrams concludes his show to focus on other ventures. Vittert, a former Fox News Channel host, has been with NewsNation since 2021, and his program 'On Balance' will move from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. starting February 10. Elizabeth Vargas, who joined the network in 2023, will move her show 'Elizabeth Vargas Reports' from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and has signed a new multi-year agreement with NewsNation. These changes are part of a broader programming shuffle that also extends 'NewsNation Now with Connell McShane' to cover 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. NewsNation is aiming to strengthen its prime-time lineup as it competes with established networks like Fox News, MSNBC, and CNN. The network has seen promising ratings growth, occasionally surpassing MSNBC in the 25-54 age demographic during certain weekend hours.
