The Replacements Announce Let It Be Deluxe Reissue With 35 Unreleased Tracks
The Replacements are reissuing their influential 1984 album Let It Be as a deluxe edition on October 24 via Rhino, available in 4xLP and 3xCD formats. This release includes remastered original tracks along with a wealth of unreleased material such as alternate versions of “Gary’s Got a Boner,” “Favorite Thing,” and “Androgynous” featuring a different vocal take and full piano intro. The set also offers previously unreleased outtakes like “Who’s Gonna Take Us Alive” and “Street Girl,” plus five bonus tracks from the 2008 expanded edition, all newly remastered. Additionally, the deluxe edition features Goodnight! Go Home!, a 28-song live album recorded in August 1984 at the Cubby Bear in Chicago, and a Rhino-exclusive 10-inch vinyl, Live at City Gardens, capturing a performance at a New Jersey punk club. The package comes with a booklet containing rare photos and new liner notes, with contributions from Pitchfork's Elizabeth Nelson and original manager Peter Jesperson. This comprehensive reissue celebrates the album's legacy and significance in American college rock history.
