LSU Women’s Basketball Schedules Four HBCU Matchups, ACC/SEC Challenge for 2025-26 Season
The LSU women's basketball team, led by Coach Kim Mulkey, has announced a historic 2025-26 season schedule featuring a mix of significant non-conference matchups and Southeastern Conference (SEC) play. Notably, LSU will compete against four HBCU programs—Langston, Alcorn State, Morgan State, and Alabama State—marking the first time an NCAA Division I women's basketball program has scheduled four HBCU opponents in a single season, underscoring LSU's commitment to elevating Black college basketball. These games, mostly held at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center, provide both competitive challenges and opportunities to honor HBCU traditions while preparing for the SEC schedule starting in January. The Tigers will also face marquee nonconference games including an ACC/SEC challenge at Duke and a home-and-home series with Texas, as well as key SEC contests such as South Carolina visiting Baton Rouge. Star player Flau’jae Johnson, an All-American and projected first-round WNBA draft pick, has opted to return for her senior season, leading a roster poised for success. Additionally, the team will play twice in New Orleans and begin their season against Mississippi College, while Johnson continues to make an impact off the court with philanthropic efforts in her hometown.
